How to Write a Stone Listing That Actually Converts Buyers

Buyers Are Solving a Problem — Help Them Faster
When a buyer searches for "Italian White Marble Slabs" on LithoPrime, they have a project in mind. They know roughly what they need — they're searching for confirmation that you can deliver it, at the right quality, on time, at a competitive price. Your listing's job is to provide that confirmation as quickly and completely as possible.
The Title Is Your First Filter
Write the title a buyer would search for, not the commercial name you use internally. Include: stone type, variety name, finish, and application where relevant.
Weak: "Premium Stone Slabs Available"
Strong: "Carrara White Marble Slabs — Polished, 2cm & 3cm, Export Ready"
Front-Load the Specifications
Within the first paragraph of your description, include: stone variety, origin, available finishes, available thicknesses, minimum order quantity, and whether you have stock or produce to order. Buyers make shortlists in seconds — if they can't find this information immediately, they move on.
Specifications Table
Use a structured format for technical specs:
- Origin quarry / region
- Available finishes: Polished / Honed / Brushed / Flamed
- Thicknesses: 2cm / 3cm / custom
- Slab sizes: Standard jumbo (280×170cm) / available cuts
- MOQ: e.g., 1 container (approximately 300 sqm)
- Lead time: stock vs production
- Certifications held
Images Are 80% of the Decision
Use 3–5 high-quality photos: one full-slab image in good outdoor light, one close-up showing surface texture and veining, and one showing the edge/thickness. Natural light is far better than artificial light for representing colour accurately. See our dedicated photography guide for the full technique.
Mention What You Won't Supply
Counterintuitively, listing what you don't do (e.g., "we do not supply tiles, slabs only" or "minimum order 50 sqm") filters out time-wasting enquiries and builds credibility with serious buyers. Specificity signals professionalism.
Price Guidance
Buyers know that stone prices fluctuate with exchange rates and quarry availability. If you can't commit to a firm price, give a range and state "price valid for 30 days" or "contact for current pricing." Hiding price entirely reduces enquiry conversion significantly.
